About Me

My name is Chloe. I grew up in Tennessee in a Christian home that believed in one God who is King and Creator of the universe; however, it's one thing to acknowledge God with your words and another to believe in Him with your whole heart. I found myself doing one without the other, and my actions were proof of this inconsistency. In 2014 I began reading my Bible more thoroughly in order to become a "better person". Originally my motives were very self-serving, yet over time it evolved into a genuine love for Yeshua. One morning, while reading my daily devotions, I came across Colossians 3, and I felt God whispering, "Put to death your sins NOW. Your new life begins NOW." My life was forever changed. The Holy Spirit filled me, and at that moment, I had never felt so much joy, so much peace. The chaos and confusion were gone. I loved everyone. The world was beautiful. God was real and alive.

I wish I could say that I never made any more mistakes - that from then on my life was perfect. However, pride led to falls, and I struggled. Loneliness resulted in poor choices and sin. A lack of guidance nearly resulted in me losing my way, yet through it all, God was faithful. When you've experienced something so real as the personal love of the Creator, it's impossible to return to your old ways with a clean conscience. So I came back to Him, and that's where I am now: regaining my vision in and through Yeshua.

In 2018 my father - with nothing else lined up - unexpectedly resigned from his job, and within 2 months our family of seven sold most of our possessions and auctioned off our house, moving over 1600 miles across the country to Arizona. At first I struggled with the idea of leaving everyone and everything I knew behind, but God brought to my attention a passage that has been a recurring theme of this new season: Genesis 12:1-3 - " 1 The Lord had said to Abram, 'Go from your country, your people and your father's household to the land I will show you. 2 I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great and you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all the peoples on earth will be blessed through you.' " Like Abram, our family was called to leave everything we knew and go into a new land: a desert. We may never bless anyone to the extent that Abraham blessed the world, but if nothing else, this experience has brought us closer together as a family. I know God is good, and His way is best. I can't wait to see what changes He has in store for me - and for all of us - in the future.

About This Blog

I created Seeking, Thirsting, Longing based on Psalm 63:1 - "O God, you are my God; I will seek you eagerly. My heart thirsts for you, my body longs for you in a land parched and exhausted, where no water can be found." Although I was unaware of it at the time, I had been prophetically speaking this passage over my life just months before our move. This verse reflects many intense passions, chiefly the longing of the people of God longing for Him to reveal Himself. Seeking, Thirsting, Longing was created to inspire and encourage believers in Yeshua despite the "parched and exhausted" culture around us.

My Beliefs

I believe in one true God (John 17:3), synonymous with the Father, who is known over 6000 times in the Old Testament as the "LORD" or "Yehovah". Yehovah alone is God, and there is none beside Him (1 Chronicles 17:20). He is the focus of the most important commandment (Deuteronomy 6:4-5). Yehovah is eternal, immortal, unchanging, omnipotent, and omniscient. (Psalm 147:5, Malachi 3:6, 1 Timothy 1:17).

I believe that Yeshua (Jesus) is the Messiah (Matthew 16:13-16) chosen by God to be His son (Psalm 2:7). He is a man attested to us by God through the power of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:22). He died on the cross, but God raised him from the dead (Acts 2:24). Yeshua is a mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5). He has temporarily been given all authority in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18) until the coming age when he will give his authority back to God (1 Corinthians 15:20-28).

I believe that we are saved by grace through faith and that our salvation has nothing to do with our own accomplishments (see Ephesians 2:8-9), yet I also believe that faith without actions is dead (James 2:14-26).

I believe that the Holy Spirit is an aspect of God, just as wisdom is an aspect that reveals a person. I believe that the purpose of the Spirit is to bring believers back to God's commands (see Ezekiel 36:26-27) and to help us produce much fruit (see Galatians 5:22-23). I believe that in order to produce fruit we must abide in our God and our Messiah (see John 15:1-8).

I believe that Gentiles are grafted into Israel (see Romans 11:16-24 and Ephesians 2) and are children of Abraham through trust (see Galatians 3:26-29). I believe that God will be the one to correct and unite Jews and Gentiles in His perfect timing (see Jeremiah 46:28 and Ezekiel 37:15-22).

I believe that the Torah has not been abolished but, instead, fulfilled (ie exemplified) through Yeshua (see Matthew 5:17). I believe Yeshua has fulfilled the Torah in multiple ways. First, Yeshua fulfilled the Torah through perfect obedience that He might be our blameless sacrificial Lamb (see 1 Peter 1:19). Second, He fulfilled the biblical spring feasts by dying on Passover (see 1 Corinthians 5:7), resurrecting and ascending on Firstfruits (see 1 Corinthians 15:20-23), and pouring out His Spirit on Pentecost (see Acts 2:1-21). We await His return to fulfill the fall festivals (the Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement, and the Feast of Tabernacles). Finally, I believe Yeshua fulfilled the Torah by exalting it to its deeper spiritual application (see Matthew 5:17-48). I believe that Gentiles turning back to God's Torah is a fulfillment of prophecy (see Jeremiah 6:16-19 & 31:31-33, Isaiah 2:2-4 & 56:6-8, Micah 4:1-5, and Malachi 4:4-6).

I believe that sin is transgression of the law (1 John 3:4). Since sin must no longer be part of the Christian lifestyle, I believe we need to obey the commandments in the Torah (Romans 6). This is how we prove that we desire resurrection and salvation (James 2:18-20).

I believe that, above all, eternal life is to know God and Yeshua the Messiah (see John 17:3).

I believe that the New Covenant has been promised, but it has not yet been enacted (see Jeremiah 31:31-34, Hebrews 8:13, and Luke 22:17-20).
